POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER in Responsible Data Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Tandon School of Engineering at New York University is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Researcher position starting in Fall 2026, to conduct research on "Responsible Data Engineering," under the supervision of Professor Julia Stoyanovich.
Applicants are required to hold a PhD in Computer Science or related discipline, and to have prior experience in data-centric AI and responsible data engineering.
The program provides Postdoctoral Researchers with mentoring, professional development, and academic networking opportunities, to prepare them for faculty positions in computer science at top universities. The initial appointment is for one year, beginning in September 2026, and is renewable for a second year, subject to satisfactory progress and availability of funding.
Postdoctoral Researcher is expected to:
- Produce high-quality computer science research, both independently and in collaboration with the faculty mentor.
- Participate in research and professional development activities of the NYU Tandon Center for Responsible AI
- Work with other scientists at NYU and Universities in South Korea who are associated with the Global AI Frontier Lab in the area of Responsible AI, one of the key research themes of the Lab
- Participate in professional advancement events and NYU campus life.
Salary and program benefits include:
- A 12-month salary of $90,000, subject to tax withholding.
- A $5,000 annual research allowance to support conference travel, publication fees, and other research-related expenses.
