Adjunct Lecturer / Communication (Part Time)
Position Highlights
The University of Arizona, Department of Communication, seeks an outstanding lecturer to teach a variety of communication courses offered on our main campus in Tucson, Arizona. This adjunct lecturer will be hired to fill courses on an as-needed basis, to cover for faculty on sabbaticals or leave. Candidate must have a PhD in communication. The position may require the supervision of teaching assistants.
Your teaching load may make you eligible for benefits if you work a .50 FTE or greater for 90 days or longer. As courses and loads are determined, we will notify employees should they gain benefits eligibility status.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach multiple introductory and advanced courses in communication. Specific courses are open to negotiation but will generally be in the areas of media, interpersonal, small group, and organizational communication, in addition to health communication and/or communication theory.
- All courses will be instructed on campus and in person during Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. This is a one-year position.
- Candidate must have PhD in communication. The position may require the supervision of teaching assistants in some courses. All courses are in person.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D in Communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching communication courses in a university setting.
