Administrative Assistant 2- MCG-Immunology Center of GA
Job Summary
This position requires a high level of discretion due to confidential data for faculty, students, and staff. This position is assistant to the Director of the Center for Immunology and responsible to ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations, assist in travel for the center, grant applications, faculty promotion & tenure, monitor and manage expenditure accounts belonging to the Center, and coordinate facility projects. Will assist Center Manager/Administrator with employee leave and arrangements for guest speakers.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates All activities for the Center Director; coordinate and schedule meetings, travel arrangements, handle confidential correspondences, and compiling confidential information for faculty evaluations/salary, etc.
- Coordinate faculty & staff travel, reimbursements, and itineraries.
- Collect and compile data and appropriate forms for yearly evaluations and promotion and tenure as needed. Work with faculty to compile P&T portfolios.
- Assist Center Manager/Administrator with weekly & monthly leave.
- Assemble database of awards for immunology faculty and staff.
- Assist with acquiring clinical samples for ongoing studies, enter data into ONCORE database, coordinate with lab technician to get samples processed.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions; or a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and seven years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday
Salary: $17.88-$21.92 per hour.
Pay Band: B5
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
This position is (fully/partially) funded through external sources.Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds.
