Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive reception services for the Arts and Sciences Advising and Academic Services office. They answer incoming calls in the Arts and Sciences Advising and Career Services phone center. They make appropriate and accurate referrals, and they schedule student appointments appropriately and accurately. They check students in for academic advising appointments, career advising appointments, and peer resume reviews. The Administrative Assistant notifies academic and career advisors of student arrivals. They notify peer career advisors of walk-in resume reviews. They reschedule appointments for advisors who call in sick. They respond to inquiries, research, and resolve problems. They serve as liaison to other university offices. They receive and process forms. They add and drop courses, make credit hour adjustments, process sections changes, and make appropriate adjustments to students records. They send all processed forms to scan to maintain accurate and up-to-date student records. The Administrative Assistant serves as back up for scanning and indexing undergraduate student files and miscellaneous documents for all advising offices, ASC Career and Professional Success, and the ASC Honors Office. Completes other duties as assigned.
Required: High School diploma or GED. Strong computer and communication skills. Experience with MS Office Suite, specifically, Word and Excel. Knowledge of University policies, rules and regulations is required. Competence with SIS, the Degree Audit Program, and Advising Connect; customer service experience, especially with college students; knowledge of ASC curriculum and major requirements, university policies affecting students, and important deadline dates required.

The pay range for this job profile is $16.65 - $21.77. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
