Required Qualifications:
- Must have at least a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Must have extensive knowledge of and experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office software (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college education preferred, ideally in the criminology or criminal justice fields
- Demonstrated outstanding organizational skills
- Attention to detail; ability to work under minimal supervision
- Evidence of initiative and proactive approach to solving problems
- Experience with Texas State software such as Banner, GATO, LOGI, Course Leaf, Slate, and SAP;
- Experience with travel, hiring, and purchasing processes
- Experience organizing and facilitating university events
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new procedures and to problem-solve independently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Job Description:
The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative and general clerical support to the management and staff within a specific division, department, or unit.
Job Duties:
- Maintain graduate student tracking system
- Develop a system for keeping track of and implementing program coordination tasks
- Process Graduate College and other university administration-related forms
- Coordinate orientations, recruitment, and other graduate student activities and events; process hiring and travel for graduate students
- Maintain office supplies and equipment
- Assign office space and monitor Hill House facility
- Maintain graduate program webpages and Canvas sites
- Perform other duties as assigned by master’s and doctoral program coordinators and Director.
