Facilities Management - Technical Logistics
Central Connecticut State University invites applications to join Facilities Management-Technical Logistics as a full-time Administrative Faculty Trainee. We seek applicants who are interested in an entry level position in a technical logistics role seeking to building experience working with event management including lighting, sound and stage direction.
Position Profile
This Administrative Faculty trainee will support the Technical Logistics Event Management area in a number of capacities including scheduling and support of student workers and University Assistants, technical support of events including lighting, sound and stage direction and communication with clients.
Position Responsibilities
- Participates in a formal development program designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to qualify for appointment and advancement to a designated Administrative Faculty target class.
- Performs and/or learns a variety of increasingly difficult duties as skills are acquired during the course of the training period of the designated function.
- Attends and participates in a variety of learning opportunities such as trainings, conferences, committees, and meetings.
- Performs a variety of administrative functions to ensure operational goals and objectives are met as well as compliance with supervisory expectations, University and BOR/CSCU policies and procedures and State and Federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
- May provide basic direction to Student Workers, Graduate Assistants, Graduate Interns, and/or Cooperative Educational Interns.
- May collect, analyze and maintain data, databases and other record keeping; prepare and present reports.
- May lead special projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge, skills, and abilities attributed to a formal educational program of study; Knowledge of and ability to apply principles and practices of target classification; Demonstrated technical skills of target classification; Knowledge of and ability to apply Federal and State laws and regulations as well as University and BOR/CSCU policies and procedures; Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices of target classification; Considerable ability to use appropriate equipment, computerized systems, platforms and software; Considerable interpersonal and presentation skills; Considerable oral and written communication skills; Considerable ability to collect, analyze and prepare data; Considerable ability to prepare reports and other materials.
Applicant Evaluative Criteria
Education: All applicants must possess Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in related area.
Preference will be given to applicants with the following: Events management experience including lighting, sound and stage direction. Knowledge and/or experience with Sub it up or other workforce management software. Experience with transportation coordination. Knowledge and/or experience with Accruent Event Management (EMS) or other scheduling software. Technical experience with lighting, control, and staging systems.
