Responsibilities
- Serves as a HR Representative for the College of Music (CoM) administering OPS human resource transactions, processes, and procedures. Serves as contract manager and point of contact for Affiliation Agreements between CoM and internship/practica sites.
- Serves as a HR Departmental Representative processing recruiting, hiring, terminations, and other personnel actions for the OPS populations throughout the College. Collaborates with Career Liaison to maintain inventory of available OPS position/job description for those roles at the CoM and provides recommendations based on knowledge of the CoM's needs/activities and University policy.
- Assists in management of the Professional Development Canvas course. Tracks and monitors OPS expenditures by area and prepares budgetary reports of OPS employees at the CoM.
- Lead contact for Affiliation Agreements between CoM and internship/practica sites. Liaison to negotiate the terms of agreement in accordance with university policy, and College need. Maintains inventory of agreements, tracking expiration and renewal of agreements as needed. Serves as a contract manager for non-revenue or procurement contracts to include Music Therapy, Arts Administration, Commercial Music, and Community Music.
- Advises on employment relationships based on nature of the work/request/funding to include OPS non-exempt, exempt, OTP, scholarship recipient, or supplier to ensure conflicts of interest do not exist between those with employment relationship and independent contractors.
- Monitors time approvals for CoM employees. Notifies area personnel of deviations from regularly scheduled payroll activities and actively communicates with area approvers regarding outstanding timesheet entries. Responsible for reviewing biweekly OPS HR Actives and cost center reports utilizing OMNI and BI modules. Investigates any discrepancies and determines corrections as needed. Prepares, gathers signatures, and maintains OPS payroll certification approval documentation. Serves as backup for non-OPS functions and assists during peak seasons.
- Interprets University HR policies and provides recommendations based on knowledge of the organization's business activities. Works with Sr. Admin Specialist and Assistant Dean to implement solutions for improved business processes. Maintains departmental personnel files and assists Head of College Archives with record retention.
- Stays up to date on HR process, policies, and best practices, attending relevant training and Department Representative meetings and HR forums. Ensures a sound environment of internal controls and compliance by initiating, monitoring, and reviewing HR transactions to completion and resolving outstanding items. Provides regular workflow status updates and advises staff and supervisors regarding the status of OPS human resources transactions, especially approaching deadlines.
- Serves as a liaison to Central HR, in particular Attendance & Leave, Employment and Recruitment, and Employee Data Management. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and University laws, policies, and guidelines. Works closely with internal stakeholders to maintain partnerships throughout the various Music areas to ensure appointment information is gathered timely and entered accurately.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years' experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Anticipated Salary Range
Minimum starting salary is $40,910, commensurate with experience.
