Job Duties:

This position will involve work on a grant supporting a training program dedicated to equipping nurses with the skills to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to survivors of sexual assault. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, proactive and organized Administrative Support Assistant able to work independently and as part of a team supporting our nursing training program. The team is seeking a candidate that will have administrative expertise along with a commitment to supporting survivor-centered services while maintaining a positive learning environment for our students.

  • Understanding of issues related to sexual assault, survivor support, and community-based services.
  • Ability to communicate with sensitivity and professionalism when working with diverse populations, including survivors and service providers.
  • Familiarity with database management.

Work will be a hybrid work schedule with remote work as well as in-person support for scheduled trainings/events on the UW-Milwaukee campus.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Services: Assist with the preparation of training materials and resources.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all records and assist with tracking follow-up data of program alumni.
  • Event Planning: Assist Program Coordinator with planning in-person training sessions, workshops, and other program-related events. Assist with coordination of standardized patients/consultants for in-person training events.
  • Office Management: Order supplies, manage inventory, and ensure the training facility is well maintained.
  • Administrative Support: Manage day-to-day administrative tasks including scheduling, correspondence and record-keeping
  • Budget Support: Assist with creating/processing project invoices, requisitions, purchasing card requirements and expense reports.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for students, instructors, and external partners. Manage email/website inquiries and provide information as needed.
  • Student Coordination: Assist with student enrollment, maintain student records, and provide support to students as needed throughout their training.

UWM School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding (MSP), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs. UW-Milwaukee offers the BS in Nursing at UWM and UW-Parkside through a consortial partnership. Students are placed in clinical sites throughout Southeastern Wisconsin in proximity to each campus location.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this part-time, LTE position is $18-$24/hr. The final offer will be contingent upon the knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated throughout the selection process.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role.
  • Strong communication skills as demonstrated in written application materials.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a related field such as victim advocacy, sexual violence prevention, crisis response, or trauma-informed care.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role in an educational or healthcare setting.
  • Experience with Canvas and Qualtrics or other similar platforms.
