Job Duties:
The Admissions Counselor plays a vital, mission-driven role in advancing the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay’s commitment to student success, access, and regional impact. This position plans, develops, and executes strategic recruitment and admissions efforts aligned with institutional priorities—expanding educational opportunity, strengthening enrollment pathways, and fostering a talented, diverse student body across Northeast Wisconsin. Serving as an enthusiastic ambassador for UW–Green Bay, the Admissions Counselor builds relationships with prospective and admitted students, families, schools, and community partners, delivering clear, compelling messages that reflect our brand, values, and promise: Together, We Rise.
Guided by our core values to Advance Fearlessly, Empower Success, Provision Access, Express Gratitude, and Build Community, the Admissions Counselor uses data-informed strategies and CRM tools to recruit, counsel, and support students through the admissions journey. This role may also lead initiatives or supervise staff, contributing to a collaborative, student-centered environment rooted in gratitude, innovation, and shared purpose—helping learners envision their future and confidently take the next step at UW–Green Bay.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- May supervise staff and/or lead a program area
- Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences
- Counsels prospective and admitted students on educational planning and career opportunities
- Use CRM to effectively recruit students
- Engages in extensive outreach and recruitment events, representing the university to prospective students
- Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals
- Reviews, evaluates, and responds to student applications according to established policies and procedures
- Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for events to promote the Institution
- Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions and outreach events
- Recruit and counsel prospective students by providing timely and accurate information about degree options, admission procedures, general education requirements, supporting and major course requirements for available programs of study, and rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the institution

Minimum compensation of $44,739.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree by start date
- Experience in admissions, customer service, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in K-12 or post-secondary education
- Proficiency in speaking and reading in a second language, preferably Spanish, Hmong, Oneida, or Somali
- Experience with software systems such as Peoplesoft, Salesforce, ImageNow that support Admissions processes
Conditions of Appointment:
Travel to Southeastern Wisconsin High Schools, fairs and other institutions will be necessary; a combination of daytime, evening, and weekend advising hours will be required to meet the needs of the program and its students.
This position may have the option to work on-campus or a hybrid schedule, subject to approved telecommuting request.
The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel to or work at the Marinette, Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs.
Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment. A pre-employment education check which includes, but is not limited to, the verification of academic credentials will be conducted on the finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s) and if there is prior work history within the last 7 years with Universities of Wisconsin, a personnel file review check for employee misconduct.
