General Summary
The Admissions Technician serves as one of the first contacts in Admissions for both prospective and current students. Greets walk-in students and visitors, answers the phone, and provides information regarding CCC programs and services. The Admissions Technician utilizes a variety of specialized software programs to complete required tasks. Responsible for data entry, processing, and reporting of college prospects and applicants. Attention to detail and accuracy of data entry is required.
Essential Functions
- Serves as one of the primary first contacts in Admissions; greets walk in students and visitors, answers the phone, and provides information regarding college programs and services. Processes student enrollment inquiries via web, text, and calls utilizing CRM Recruit and Colleague. Determines appropriate responses to student requests, fields sensitive student issues, and maintains confidentiality.
- Analyzes and assesses needs of each in-person visit, as well as all phone communications. Interprets each individual's needs and responds appropriately with information and referrals. Receives and responds to requests from prospective students and records student information in college databases. Prepares student packets, assists with identifying student programs of interest, and schedules student initial appointment and pre-enrollment assessment testing. Assists with the coordination of multiple student support services during individual visits. Maintains current college enrollment materials (program brochures, viewbooks, etc.) and promo item inventory. Special clerical support for Campus Visit Days and Registration Days.
- Directs office management operations. Provides administrative support and assistance to student and admissions staff. Maintains and orders office supplies and keeps track of inventory. Provides clerical support.
- Disseminates information about the College to the general public, community agencies, businesses and industry that contact admissions. Schedules activities in 25LIVE. Coordinates and supports events and group tours including requests for meals, snacks and refreshments according to the Meal Guidelines. Maintains and purchases general office and copier supplies.
- Trains and supervises student workers. Assists with hosting ongoing trainings and delegates jobs to student workers.
- Guides tours as needed to prospective students and guests. Recruits students and families in the office and at on campus events.
- Processes college applications for credit-seeking students by utilizing various software. Makes independent decisions for the next steps while troubleshooting incomplete or conflicting applications.
