Adult Protection Services Specialist

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable adults as an Adult Protection Specialist serving North Idaho from our Lewiston office. In this vital role, you’ll investigate reports of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and exploitation, working directly with individuals, families, and community partners to ensure safety and dignity.

You’ll conduct thorough investigations by interviewing clients and collateral contacts, documenting findings, completing comprehensive assessments, and developing supportive service plans. Your work will include ongoing case management, advocating for clients, and connecting them to services that promote independence while reducing risk. When necessary, you’ll collaborate with law enforcement and the Department of Health & Welfare, prepare affidavits, and participate in court proceedings. You’ll also engage in community outreach -helping educate the public and partner organizations about adult protection services - while maintaining accurate records and contributing to program reporting and goals. Travel throughout the region is part of the role as you meet clients where they are.

We’re looking for someone with strong judgment, compassion, and the ability to navigate complex, sensitive situations. You'll bring excellent communication skills, the ability to build trust with diverse populations, and a talent for organizing and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with technology, attention to detail in documentation, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. A collaborative mindset and commitment to empowering others will set you apart.

If you’re driven to protect and support those most at risk, we encourage you to apply.
