Position Summary

The Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy and Finance (JRCPPF) at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs invites applications for a Professional Specialist expected to begin on or before September 1, 2026. The initial term of this appointment is for one year, with renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding.

About JRCPPF

The Center's mission is to advance research and education at the intersection of financial markets, global macroeconomics, and public policy. The Center provides a dynamic environment for collaboration among students, faculty, quantitative researchers, financial industry experts, and public-sector practitioners. JRCPPF hosts a major annual conference along with multiple seminars, lectures, and policy panels, convening leading voices in economics, finance, and governance. The Center sponsors several active research programs, supports an engaged student associate community, and offers extensive co-curricular programming for undergraduate and graduate students.

Responsibilities

The Center is expanding its research and academic offerings at the intersection of AI, quantitative economics, international macrofinance, and economic policy. Professional Specialists will contribute to the research initiatives in AI, international macrofinance, and economic policy (approximately 70%). They will also support the Center's educational programs (approximately 30%). Working closely with Center directors, the specialists will help develop courses on AI applications for economic policy and financial markets for global professional audiences, design and lead reading groups and non-credit policy clinics for Princeton students, and participate in Center-wide efforts to translate research insights into policy-relevant outputs. There will also be opportunities to pursue one's own research program

Principal Duties

  • Collaborate with faculty and research affiliates on empirical and theoretical studies at the intersection of AI and machine learning methods, quantitative economics, international macrofinance, and economic policy.
  • Contribute to short courses, workshops, and executive education modules for students and global professional audiences, with an emphasis on AI applications in international finance and economic policy.
  • Develop policy briefs, commentary, and applied research products aimed at practitioners and policymakers.
  • Support the Center's research collaborations, training programs, and visiting-expert engagements.
