This position is a leadership position joining the Quality Assurance team, overseeing the management of MRI imaging protocols at all Michigan Medicine MRI sites. This position also provides training and educational support to 86+ MRI technologists.
- Updating protocols on all scanners for Adult MR imaging, with a heavy focus on Breast imaging.
- Travel to all sites of operation; C&W, Pavilion, Northville Health Center, Brighton Center for Specialty Care, University Hospital, East Ann Arbor Health Center.
- Be competent in protocol development on all vendor platforms within Michigan Medicine MRI; Siemens, GE and Philips.
- Communicate protocol changes and provide MRI education/training to the technologists in a timely fashion through one-on-one interaction, Outlook/Teams and a quarterly newsletters.
- Maintain and update the shared drive and Radiology SharePoint imaging protocol guidance with all pertinent protocol information via Radiology intranet.
- Work with divisional radiologists as necessary, in developing and/or improving clinical and research protocols.
- Facilitate regular protocol review meetings with each division within MRI.
- Work collaboratively with the Quality Control teams, pediatric Quality Assurance team and schedulers, answering all questions pertaining to adult protocols/scheduling. This collaboration includes monthly newsletters for all MRI Quality Assurance topics.
- Work closely with MRI management in maintaining proper and timely QA documentation; assisting in determining the impact of protocol changes on scheduling and throughput.
- Serve as a role model for the staff and provide support for the team.
- Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic orders in the patient's medical record.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a recognized field of science or learning.
- 3+ years of MRI experience in a hospital setting.
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MR) or registration as a Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT).
- 2+ years of experience scanning on Philips Ingenia/Ambition R5.7 or greater, and Siemens Sola Vida XA31 or greater.
- Must complete Cardiac and Breast training within the first 12 months of hire/transfer.
- BLS Certification.
Desired Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience scanning on GE Artist MR30 or greater.
- Experience with alternative MR imaging (Pacemakers, Neurostimulators, Prostate/Breast/Liver Biopsies).
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Sharepoint, Powerpoint, Excel).
- MRSO Certification.
- Familiarity with Radiology Billing.
- Experience in MR imaging protocol building/development.
- Interest in continuing MR education through personal development.
4x10-hour shifts, Monday 2pm-12am, Tuesday 12pm-10pm, Wednesday off, Thursday 12pm-10pm, Friday 2pm-12am. No weekends, Holidays, or On-call duties.
