Academic ConnectAdvanced Single Cell Omics Facility Research Assistant
Applicants are invited for a skilled Research Assistant working in the field of Single Cell Omics and Spatial Biology in the Advanced Single Cell Omics Facility at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, Radcliffe Department of Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford.
The Facility has pioneered the development and application of single cell technologies to study human biology and disease. You will be involved in running a range of cutting-edge single cell genomics projects delivered through the Facility. This will provide an exciting opportunity to develop skills in the rapidly developing field of single cell omics applied to study human disease and more.
You will be responsible for managing own research projects and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues. You will also be responsible for processing samples for various genomic assays, developing automation processes and supporting the induction of new Facility users in various genomics techniques.
A degree in a biomedical, biological or biotechnological science related area and proven administrative and project management skills, with experience of working in a project-driven laboratory are essential. Experience in genomics, molecular biology, lab automation techniques and single cell biology techniques are also essential. Experience of using and programming laboratory automation, such as Beckman liquid handlers, TTP Mosquito, Mantis, Integra, would be desirable.
This is a full-time position available until 31 March 2027 in the first instance, funded by Cancer Research UK.
