Aerospace Affiliate Instructor
The Department of Aviation and Aerospace Science at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for future part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions.
Responsibilities: An affiliate faculty member's duties include teaching assigned classes in person or online, preparing course materials, grading student work, providing feedback, addressing student questions, and providing academic support; providing instruction consistent with course content and learning objectives; and complying with university-wide evaluation policies.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus four years of relevant work experience or a master's degree or doctorate; Experience with space mission architecture, including aerospace systems engineering, spacecraft design, launch processes, ground station operations, and space system automation; Experience with industry tools for mission simulation, programming, system design, and data analysis; A fundamental understanding of orbital mechanics and the space environment; Knowledge of historical spaceflight systems and future industry trends, including system automation, modular architectures, artificial intelligence integration, and aerospace workforce development.
Terms of Employment: Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired on a per credit hour basis, usually semester-by-semester. They are not eligible for benefits and must teach in person/on campus.
