Job Description
Position Summary
The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking a Football Analyst to support the strategic, analytical, and operational needs of the Mizzou Football program. This position serves as a liaison between the football coaching staff and video/technology personnel, providing detailed film breakdowns, statistical analysis, scouting reports, and practice support. The Football Analyst plays a key role in game preparation, practice evaluation, and student-athlete development while ensuring compliance with NCAA, SEC, and University regulations.
- Film Analysis, Charting, and Game Support (35%)
Serve as a liaison between offensive and defensive coaching staffs and the video staff by providing specific video, cut-ups, and statistical information as requested.
Chart and record plays during all football practices and competitions.
During live competition, diagram, connect, and input plays into Vision Playbook and provide live statistical data to assigned coaches to support in-game management decisions.
Independently input, edit, and manage practice and game video within the XOS video system. - Opponent Scouting and Database Management (25%)
Oversee and maintain the football scouting database, including opponent film breakdown and play-by-play data analysis.
Evaluate opponent game film prior to competition and analyze data for tendencies, schemes, and game-planning insights.
Break down opponent offensive, defensive, and special teams schemes and develop detailed statistical and scouting reports.
Distribute accurate, timely scouting reports to coaches and assistants for game planning, practice preparation, and student-athlete instruction. - Playbook Development and Practice Preparation (15%)
Create and update playbooks for assigned areas (offense, defense, and/or special teams) for each game.
Produce playbooks and supporting materials for approximately 25–30 student-athletes and coaching staff.
Work directly with assigned position coaches to translate and synthesize coaching input into clear, effective playbook materials.
Attend all team meetings and assist the coaching staff with creating practice plans designed to replicate opponent schemes. - Student-Athlete Support and Supervision (10%)
Maintain contact with the most recent signing class by providing workout materials, video playback, and development resources as directed.
Supervise undergraduate and graduate student assistants involved in daily drills, meetings, and practice activities.
Assist coaching staff with grading and evaluating student-athlete performance following each practice. - Compliance, Time Management, and Player Development Support (10%)
Provide oversight of time-management matters for assigned student-athletes during fall camps beginning in late July.
Monitor student-athlete participation time to help ensure NCAA compliance.
Coordinate with the player development area to assist with discipline, study hall oversight, and class attendance monitoring. - Administrative and Recruiting Support (5%)
Oversee assistant coaches’ notes and ensure accurate logging within appropriate recruiting and internal software systems.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Football Administration.
Ensure compliance with University, NCAA, and SEC rules, policies, and procedures.
Shift
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in a related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired. Experience in the following of adhering to NCAA rules and regulations is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a NCAA Division I football program.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience
