Summary:

The Anthropology Department seeks a Student Staff Assistant to assist with general office duties. Primary duties include greeting the public, answering phone calls, and assisting the Senior Administrative Assistant and faculty members with projects on an as-needed basis.

Essential Functions:

• Answer telephones.
• Greet the public.
• Respond to inquiries.
• Direct traffic in the front office area.
• Perform additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned, including copying, filing, typing, sorting, running errands, processing and distributing incoming mail, making deliveries, data entry, and word processing.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-time.
• 8 expected hours per week.
• This position is restricted to students with an available Federal Work Study Award.

Salary Range:

$17.95 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate general office equipment.
• A working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Customer service experience.
• Experience using Canva to design flyers and posters.
• An interest in Anthropology.
