Assistant/Associate Clinical Pediatric Endocrinologist

Position Summary

The Department of Pediatric Endocrinology at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons is seeking a new mid-career physician as Assistant Clinical Pediatric Endocrinologist or a seasoned physician as Associate Clinical Pediatric Endocrinologist. This position will involve working at a new, large multi-specialty medical practice in Westchester White Plains, adjacent to New York City.

In this role, you will participate in providing the highest level of care to patients in the department of pediatric endocrinology.

Responsibilities

Assistant Clinical Pediatric Endocrinologist

  • Deliver exceptional, specialized patient care with consistently excellent outcomes.
  • Mentor junior colleagues, supporting their professional development and growth.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives, including quality improvement and patient safety efforts.
  • Engage in continuing medical education (CME) and maintain relevant advanced certifications.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for complex cases and high-acuity patients.
  • Achieve and maintain high patient satisfaction scores.
  • Meet or exceed productivity targets.
  • Any other related duties as assigned.

Associate Clinical Pediatric Endocrinologist

The Associate Clinical Physician will exhibit sustained excellence in clinical practice while taking on a leadership role. This individual will lead initiatives that improve clinical care, enhance healthcare systems, and optimize clinical workflows, patient outcomes, or healthcare delivery (e.g., practice-based improvement projects). Additionally, this role includes documented leadership responsibilities, such as serving as a program director, committee chair, or project lead.

  • Meet or exceed productivity targets
  • Lead initiatives to improve clinical workflows, patient outcomes, or healthcare delivery systems.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff and organizational leadership, ensuring alignment of goals.
  • Oversee clinical teams or programs, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Mentor peers and junior physicians in clinical care, leadership, and professional development.
  • Represent the department or institution in professional or public-facing roles.
  • Any other related duties as assigned.

Criteria for Promotion:

  • Demonstrated leadership roles, such as program director, committee chair, or project lead.
  • Evidence of sustained clinical excellence and innovation in practice.
  • Significant contributions to institutional goals through service, leadership, or advocacy.
  • Strong endorsements from peers, department leaders, and institutional leadership.
  • Consistently high patient satisfaction scores.
  • Achievement of or exceeding productivity targets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor in Medicine
  • Board certified or eligible
  • New York State Medical License
  • Fellowship training in the respective subspecialty
  • 0-5 years post training
  • 5-10 years post training (Associate Clinical Pediatric Endocrinologist position)

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Compensation can exceed this range based on earned incentives.
