The Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions. Outstanding candidates in all areas of computer science will be considered.

We particularly encourage candidates with expertise in:

• Systems: security, databases, distributed systems, networking, programming languages, architecture
• Artificial Intelligence and Applications: foundational machine learning or machine learning applications

All positions are subject to the availability of funding.

The department is ranked among the top computer science departments in the country, with 57 tenured and tenure-track faculty members across all areas of computer science. Faculty frequently participate in interdisciplinary programs and centers, including:

• Texas Robotics
• Machine Learning Laboratory
• Institute on Foundations of Machine Learning (NSF AI Institute)
• Learning Directed Operating Systems (NSF Expeditions in Computing)
• Center for Generative AI

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in computer science or a related area at the time of employment
• Expected to pursue an active research program
• Expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses
• Supervision of graduate students in research
