ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR OF EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP

TEXAS WOMAN’S UNIVERSITY—DENTON CAMPUS

The School of Education at Texas Woman’s University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in Educational Leadership. The positions are expected to begin in August 2025.

The School of Education houses programs in Educational Leadership, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Literacy & Language, and Teacher Education. The Educational Leadership division offers an MEd in Educational Leadership, a PhD in Education, Leadership, & Organization, as well as Principal and Superintendent certifications.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The position is a full-time, 9-month tenure track appointment. Successful applicants must have a doctoral degree in Higher Education or a related field. Must be well-versed in the foundations and methodologies of higher education and educational leadership, and must have a minimum 3 years of leadership experience at either the K-12 or higher education level. The successful candidate must have appreciation for a multidisciplinary environment and a commitment to inclusive excellence Faculty will be expected to:

  • Serve as a core faculty member in the Educational Leadership program
  • Teach graduate courses using different instructional modalities (in person, hybrid, online)
  • Work with division colleagues to plan curriculum, align courses to state and national standards, and ensure that the needs of our students are met efficiently and effectively
  • Develop a program of externally funded research and publications
  • Disseminate research findings in academic journals and academic conferences
  • Chair doctoral dissertations
  • Participate in department, college, and university committees
  • Support the department's student recruitment initiatives
  • Embrace a data-driven approach to instruction, program evaluation, and decision making
  • Advise and mentor graduate students (master's and doctoral level)

Required Qualifications for the Assistant Professor Rank:

  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Higher Education or a closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years campus leadership experience at either the K-12 or higher education level
  • Emerging research agenda and record of publications in scholarly journals
  • Potential for seeking and securing externally funded grants
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience
  • Ability to mentor graduate students with research projects and dissertations
  • Capacity to engage in community/university partnerships

Additional Required Qualifications for the Associate Professor Rank:

  • Established research agenda and record of publications in scholarly journals
  • Documented experience mentoring graduate students with research projects
  • Documented evidence of securing externally funded grants
  • Experience advising doctoral students and chairing dissertations
  • Previous academic employment at the Associate Professor rank

Additional Required Qualifications for the Full Professor Rank:

  • Must meet all qualifications listed above
  • Documented leadership in university, community, and professional service
  • Previous academic employment at the Full Professor rank

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Biliterate in English and Spanish
  • Strong quantitative research experience
  • Demonstrated experience teaching, mentoring, and advising non-traditional students and being sensitive to their educational needs
  • Documented evidence of working with communities of varied backgrounds
