Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (Open Rank) of Anatomy
Job Details
This tenure-track position is anticipated to include 50-55% effort for teaching, 40-45% for research, and 5% for service. The successful candidate is expected to fully participate in teaching comparative anatomy to veterinary students and assume responsibility for laboratory instruction and associated assessments of student learning. While focused on anatomy instruction, this position will be part of the Form and Function Thread (a multi-semester course series) that includes comparative anatomy, histology/microanatomy, physiology, and pathology. This position will collaborate with content experts in these areas and/or contribute to instruction in these areas based on the successful candidate's background and qualifications. The successful candidate is expected to lead the continued development and delivery of the DVM curriculum. Additionally, the candidate is expected to grow a nationally recognized research program, obtain extramural funding, and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborations will be encouraged, as will the training of graduate students. Finally, the candidate is expected to participate in department, college, and university committees as well as in national and/or international organizations.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (DVM, PhD, or equivalent) or equivalent professional experience. In addition, candidates will be prioritized if they have experience teaching anatomy, microanatomy/histology, and/or physiology in a veterinary or medical curriculum; hold board certification(s); or hold an advanced degree or credential in education. Candidates with research experience or programs aligned with the college's current areas of interest may be preferred.
