Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor Rank-Director of Admissions (Boston, MA)
The Tufts University School of Medicine's Department of Rehabilitation Sciences (DRS) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenured faculty appointment at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications for the developing accelerated Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in Boston, MA to teach in and serve as the Director of Admissions (DoA) for the DPT Program. This seven-semester DPT program is a blend of online and on-campus activities, which allows the faculty member to live remotely to the Tufts School of Medicine Boston location. However, DPT faculty members must be able to travel and stay in Boston, MA for designated periods each semester. The successful candidate is expected to enhance current teaching and mentoring activities within the DPT program, as well as develop a scholarly agenda and participate in community and professional service appropriate for a university faculty member.
This individual works closely with the OGSS Admissions and Marketing team to ensure that recruitment and admissions is an equitable and inclusive process that aligns with Tufts University School of Medicine and accreditation standards. The DoA oversees the admissions committee, as Chair, within the program and is the liaison for all matters concerning student admission to the DPT Program.
Teaching and Education Responsibilities: Teach courses as agreed upon with the Program Chair of the DPT Program.

Essential Tasks and Functions of the DoA:
- Serves as program liaison with the Tufts University School of Medicine and Office of Graduate Student Services admissions office
- Serves as the primary faculty contact for all student inquiries requiring more specific program information
- Collaborates with colleagues in OGSS and Medical School to plan and oversee program recruitment efforts to attract a diverse student cohort
- Works with OGSS Admissions and in accordance with current and best practices to assure a holistic admissions process for all prospective students
- Educates all faculty regarding the admissions process, including specific emphasis on their role in applicant screening, interviewing, and selection
- Directs staff support personnel who assist with assembling and disseminating admissions information, receiving applications, entering data, and preparing files for interviews
- Evaluates and reviews the admissions process, criteria, and admissions data alongside OGSS to make recommendations to all regarding changes annually
- Reports all recruitment and admissions activities as an agenda item in each faculty meeting
- Assists the Director of Student Affairs with student transition into the DPT program immediately following enrollment offer acceptance and before orientation.
- Coordinates all activities of the Admissions Committee
- Plans and conducts all Admissions Committee meetings
- Provides oversight, in conjunction with the Administration Committee, to all Admissions Policies and Procedures component of the Program Assessment Plan and accreditation requirements, including the Self Study Report
- Ensures all program policies, procedures, and practices under the responsibility of the Director of Admissions provide for compliance with accreditation policies and procedures
The DoA will collaborate with the Tufts Office of Graduate Student Services (OGSS) Graduate Admissions Team on recruitment and admissions and contribute to marketing for the Tufts DPT Boston program. Successful candidates should possess excellent marketing and communication skills along with strong computer skills to meet the needs of our online didactic instructional format. We desire a team-oriented colleague who is willing and able to collaborate and share instructional methods and student-learning activities. We also are eager to identify candidates who show a genuine appreciation of evidence-based teaching, integration of technology within the classroom and building a student-centered community within the online classroom.
The ideal candidate will have an academic doctorate and previous experience in marketing and/or admissions and assessment of admissions. Candidates with a DPT and American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) certification or certification credentials appropriate for their teaching responsibilities will also be considered.
This position, like all Tufts DPT faculty positions, is a non-tenure-track faculty position with salary and rank commensurate with qualifications. Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor must demonstrate the potential to become independent investigators and teachers. If candidates seek the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, they must have a proven track record of scholarship, extramural research funding, and graduate student advising and teaching at the Doctoral level. The candidate should be licensed in or eligible for licensure in their state of residence.

Salary range: Assistant Professor: $108,000-$162,000 per year, depending on experience; Associate Professor: $120,000-$200,000 per year, depending on experience; Professor: $156,000-$312,500, per year, depending on experience
