Position Description

The University of Washington (UW), Department of Pediatrics, Division of Developmental Medicine is currently recruiting for three, full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate or Professor on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. Anticipated start date is Summer 2026. The Mission of the Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) Programs at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital is: To maximize the lifelong potential of children and families affected by neurodevelopmental & behavioral conditions through collaboration, compassionate medical care, advocacy, education and research. Led by 17 faculty members, our Division provides developmental monitoring for high-risk infant populations and integrated medical and behavioral care for children in the Pacific Northwest region with a wide variety of neurodevelopmental diagnoses including intellectual disability, autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, brain malformations, specific genetic conditions, and many others. The Division supports training at all levels and hosts a robust fellowship program with two fellows per year (6 total). Our faculty also engage in bench, translational, and clinical research focused on understanding neurodevelopmental conditions and improving the lives of those affected by them. Division faculty play key leadership, research, and clinical roles at the UW Institute on Human Development and Disability which houses Federally funded programs including Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND), University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC), and others. We hope to add three creative and energetic early career faculty to our vibrant faculty so that we can improve access to DBP care, particularly for underserved urban, suburban, and rural populations. In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship and service. The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors $153,626 - $230,448 per year ($12,803 - $19,204 monthly), Associate Professors $164,988 - $247,476 per year ($13,749 - $20,623 monthly), Professors $245,004 - $313,404 ($20,417 - $26,117) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in university benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group practice plan. Qualifications

Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
