The University of Washington (UW), Department of Medicine/Division of Cardiology is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) general cardiologist to be primarily based at Harborview Medical Center at the Assistant, Associate or Professor rank, on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. Anticipated start date will be April 1, 2026.

The position would be primarily based at Harborview Medical Center and most or all of clinical work will be done at Harborview Medical Center, including inpatient service and outpatient clinic. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in education and scholarship. Teaching will include inpatient attending with Cardiology fellows and internal medicine residents, including bedside and didactic teaching, as well as opportunities in the outpatient clinic and echocardiography labs. Harborview is one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers and the only Level 1 trauma center in the state of Washington. The Harborview Cardiology service maintains a close relationship with Medic One and has been rapidly growing with an expanded inpatient service, electrophysiology team, and recently renovated clinic with views of Puget Sound.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Successful candidates will be expected to provide patient care including general, noninvasive cardiology, and will be encouraged to grow our highly regarded inpatient and outpatient practice. This position allows individuals to take advantage of the outstanding opportunities that exist for collaboration at the University of Washington.

In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

The base salary range will be: $19,166-$41,667 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.

The successful candidate must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Cardiovascular disease and Echocardiography (or foreign equivalent) by the start date of employment.
