The Department of Fine Arts invites research-active educators to apply for a tenure-track position. This individual will teach undergraduate and graduate art education courses and coordinate Kean's Art Education program. This position will serve students in the BA Art Education and MA Fine Arts degrees (with options in Initial Teaching Certification, Studio, and Art Supervision). Responsibilities include: curriculum development, program assessment, student advisement, coordination of internships/fieldwork and critical participation in departmental, college, and university-wide committees and initiatives.
Candidates with the following expertise are highly desirable: teaching or leading graduate studies, contemporary approaches to art education, integrating traditional and new media in K-12 art classrooms, education assessment measures such as edTPA.
Qualifications: Ph.D or Ed.D in Art Education or a related field and classroom instruction experience in K-12 and/or higher education is required.
Candidates must have an established and active independent research record that supports publication in peer reviewed journals or publication venues appropriate for the discipline and a strong agenda for future research. ABD candidates will be considered with degree completion by September 1, 2026.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $80,436.03 - $103,900.98. Faculty rank is considered when making an offer. Salaries for internal applicants who are aligned under a collective bargaining unit will be determined in accordance with contractual guidelines. This position may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan and benefits for work life balance.
