"Visiting Assistant Professor of Studio Art—One Year Appointment"

The Department of Art and Art History invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Studio Art specializing in New Media beginning August 2026. Candidates should be committed to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment as well as supporting the Studio Art program and developing ties with Cinema and Media Studies and Communications Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in Digital Media, Photography, and Introductory Drawing. The teaching load for this position will be the equivalent of three courses each semester, and duties will also include advising students, helping maintain Studio facilities, and being available for Senior Capstone critiques and advising.

Gettysburg College is a highly selective liberal arts college located within 90 minutes of the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. Established in 1832, the College has a rich history and is situated on a 220-acre campus with an enrollment of over 2,200 students.

Candidates should have an MFA in Studio Art with expertise in New Media, such as Photography, Digital Art, Video Production and Animation. We seek an individual with demonstrated teaching and mentoring experience. Especially desirable is a candidate who can bring up-to-date technologies to a traditional Studio Art program and work in an interdisciplinary manner across campus, particularly with Cinema and Media Studies and Communications Studies.
