"Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing"

Indiana State University is seeking a well-qualified, collaborative faculty member to join our team in the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential to be an effective teacher, productive scholar, and contributor to community engagement.

Responsibilities: This is a 12-month regular faculty appointment with candidates eligible for the rank of assistant professor. Faculty will teach primarily in the online graduate nursing programs, but may teach in other tracks dependent upon School of Nursing needs. Faculty are expected to participate in scholarly activities and service to Indiana State University, the College, School of Nursing, and the profession. Responsibilities include teaching, advising students, engaging students in curricular and extracurricular activities to advance the institutional mission of experiential learning and community engagement, assisting in student recruitment, student success, and other activities. Remote hires are limited to the following states: Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Alabama, and Iowa.

Required Qualifications: PhD or DNP Degree in nursing or related field and Master's required, one or both must be in nursing. ABD (if PhD) or equivalent (if DNP) will be considered. Minimum of 3 years RN clinical practice experience and 1 year FNP experience. Must have an active RN and FNP license and be eligible for an RN and FNP license in Indiana if the existing license is a different state.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a college/university teacher is preferred. CNE certification is beneficial.

Job Summary: Areas of responsibility include teaching graduate nursing students; advising graduate nursing students; assisting with student recruitment; conducting research, publishing and presenting results at professional meetings and in peer reviewed journals; serving on school, college, and university committees, and providing service to the community; and assisting in curriculum development, outreach, and student outcomes assessment.
