Assistant Coach, Golf
Position Description
This position will assist the head coach in all facets of program, which includes planning, coaching, recruiting, administering, and promoting the men's and women's golf teams within NCAA and institutional standards. The assistant coach is expected to support the holistic development of student athletes and help to build and maintain a positive championship culture.
Coaching:
- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing practice and competition scheduling.
- Analyze student athlete performance using video and golf performance data metrics.
- Provide technical instruction and detailed reports on golf course competition sites.
- Plan and implement individual training plans for players.
Recruiting:
- Ability to identify talented student athletes that fit the mission of the University and the program.
- Assist the coaching staff in evaluating prospective student athletes, travel required.
- Communicate with prospective student-athletes via phone, email, and social media.
- Organize and participate in unofficial and official visits.
Administration:
- Compile and submit necessary compliance related reporting, including CARA and recruiting
- Organize equipment and work with equipment manager to order new apparel and gear for the season.
- Assist in scheduling of facilities and collaborating with game operations personnel.
- Assist in coordinating travel and meal planning for away competitions.
- Secure and verify course tee times and manage team logistics for away competitions.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree and five years of intercollegiate coaching and recruiting experience coaching/or playing at the collegiate level, preferably at NCAA Division I or II or professional golf, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Ideal candidates have strong analytical and problem-solving skills; the ability to operate independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment; are committed to promoting inclusive excellence and the university's mission, vision, and values; have demonstrated discretion and professional judgment relative to student care; and possess working knowledge of, and commitment to, NCAA rules and guidelines.
All positions at Seattle University require a criminal history background check.
Required to complete Coaches Recruiting Certification, annually. Additionally, adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification is required and must be maintained for the entire duration of employment.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $52,000-$54,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
