The Softball Assistant Coach will assist the head coach in the organization, management, and coaching of a competitive Division I softball program. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to relate to and motivate student-athletes and work with a variety of university staff, alumni, and the greater Towson community. This position will allow a highly motivated individual to implement practice plans, develop student-athletes during practice, and assist with film review and editing. In addition, this position will assist the head coach in the coordination of administrative areas of program management including, scheduling, travel planning, and home game management.
Responsibilities for the Softball Assistant Coach include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with planning and organizing team practices
- Assist in organizing recruiting visits; acting as host for recruits and families on campus
- Assist in organizing team travel planning
- Assist in maintaining video files/records for the softball program
- Assist in recruiting potential student-athletes
This position will work 30 hours per week, which includes weekends based on game schedule. Travel is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- One year of experience playing or coaching softball or baseball; experience in softball player development; or experience in softball operations
Preferred Qualification:
- Basic knowledge of collegiate softball
