OVERVIEW & HIGHLIGHTS

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified individual as an Athletic Trainer. The Incumbent is responsible for the therapeutic care, injury prevention, and rehabilitative treatments of student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer is also responsible for developing and educating athletic training students. The Athletic Trainer is the first responder in emergency situations involving the student-athlete, performs immediate treatment and care of injuries, makes decisions regarding and coordinates medical referral when necessary, organizes and tracks insurance information, performs extended treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and makes decisions regarding return to play. Benefit information

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid California driver's license and ability to qualify for district vehicle insurance coverage.
• Valid Emergency Cardiac Care Certification that includes CPR (adult, pediatric and second rescuer), airway obstruction, barrier devices and AED training issued by the American Red Cross or other authorized agency.
• Membership in good standing with the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
• A valid and current Board of Certification for Athletic Training (B.O.C.) certification number; incumbents of this class are also expected to complete continuing education units to fulfill requirements for ongoing B.O.C. certification.
