Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit: The Department of Athletics is administratively housed in the Chancellor’s Office. The Department of Athletics promotes the University’s philosophy of a student-athlete through its affiliation with the NCAA Division I. The goal of the Department of Athletics is to offer a competitive schedule regionally while striving toward national recognition. UNCG competes in seventeen sports. Position Summary: Assist the Director of Equipment with the inventory and issuance of all team apparel.
Minimum Qualifications: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY.
Preferred Qualifications: One to Three years in collegiate equipment; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Key Responsibility: Assist in maintaining the equipment room operation and laundry service for 17 Division I athletics teams.
- Knowledge of NCAA, SoCon and university rules that may impact operation of equipment room.
- Ability to develop working relationships with all coaches to help address their needs and apparel needs.
- Ability to run and operate the commercial grade washers and dryers to launder all items.
Key Responsibility: Budget Management, purchasing, shipping and receiving
- Demonstrates ability to maintain a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel for financial tracking.
- Track purchase orders, student payroll, and work-study allocations.
- Ability to place orders online in a timely manner to meet the travel needs. Maintain accurate records of orders placed, received and dispensed to individuals.
- Maintain accurate financial information.
Key Responsibility: Compliance with NCAA, Conference and University policies
- Stay up to date with all pertinent policies and procedures to ensure the equipment room is in compliance.
Key Responsibility: Input and manage accurate inventory data
- Demonstrates the ability to utilize Sport Soft apparel inventory software or other software systems.
- Ability to create a tracking system: Confirm what has been issued to the student-athletes, confirm available stock and supplies.
- Additionally maintain a strict and accurate inventory.
