"Grounds Senior Worker"

Job Description

Perform assigned grounds maintenance duties on Radford University's campus, including athletic facilities, under the supervision of the Grounds Supervisor(s).

Required Qualifications

• Experience in the operation of hand tools and equipment in grounds keeping, such as lawnmowers, weed-eaters, and trimmers.
• Experience in grounds maintenance.
• Ability to interact in a positive manner with the campus community and fellow employees in a diverse environment.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to read basic maps and construction drawings.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in athletic field maintenance.
• Pesticide applicator's license in areas 3A and 3B.
• Supervisory experience.
• Commercial Driver's License.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy machinery.
• Experience with snow removal operations.

Employment Conditions

Emergency call-in, essential personnel. Must have a valid driver's license.

Other Details

Hours Per Week: 40, Nights and weekends as required.

Months per Year: 12

Normal Work Schedule: M-F 8:00 - 5:00, some evenings and weekends as required.
