ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF INTERPROFESSIONAL EDUCATION & PRACTICE
Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Interprofessional Education and Practice Center supports the operations and educational initiatives of the Interprofessional Education and Practice (IPEP) Center by assisting with the management and maintenance of simulation equipment and supplies, collaborating with faculty on simulation programming, and supporting training activities for standardized patients. This position contributes to the preparation, execution, and enhancement of simulation experiences using both high- and low-fidelity simulators and A/V systems. The Simulation Specialist also aids in faculty and staff training, assists in curriculum development, supports simulation sessions across various settings, and participates in the collection and analysis of learning outcomes. The role requires staying informed of advancements in simulation technologies and helping implement improvements under the guidance of the IPEP Center Director.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferably in health education, health science or health care profession.
3 years experience in a healthcare and/or academic institution with interprofessional practice and simulation activity including Standardized Patients or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of academic and healthcare disciplinary culture and practice.
Experience in teaching/instructional experience in healthcare.
Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member utilizing collaboration skills.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with or willingness to learn simulation A/V systems and equipment.
Experience with curriculum development.
Experience with training standardized patients.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assists Director of IPEP Center with the purchasing and maintenance of supplies and equipment for simulation.
Collaborates with CHP faculty in programming patient simulators and A/V software for experiences
Assists with development of training sessions and training of Standardized Patients
Prepares and provide support for the high and low fidelity simulation trainers and associated equipment.
Assists in or recommend the development of enhancements to clinical simulation technologies.
Keeps abreast of new developments in simulation technology.
Supports other simulation sessions held outside IPEP Center, trainings, tours, and events for internal/external groups and/or individuals.
Serves as a resource and assists with training faculty and staff in the use of the available simulation equipment under the direction of the Director.
Assists with the collection of data on learning outcomes for IPEP experiences.
