Assistant Exhibitions Project Manager

About the role

The Ashmolean Museum delivers a varied programme of exhibitions and displays. This is an excellent opportunity to support us with the exhibitions delivery and managing a number of smaller gallery projects.

You will help coordinate key activities such as schedules, loans, meetings, and documentation, working with curators, lenders, and contractors. Ensuring work is completed safely, you will assist with exhibition installation and dismantling. You will also support budgeting tasks, raise purchase orders, and contribute to reporting.

This is a full-time, permanent post, working 36.5 hours per week.

Due to the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a satisfactory DBS check as well as a Known Consignor check. Please see page 4 for further information.

About You

You will be organised, reliable, and able to manage your time effectively. You will have good communication skills and be comfortable working with a range of people.

You will have experience in a museum, gallery, or similar environment, ideally supporting exhibitions or displays. You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, with a practical and positive approach.

You will be able to manage multiple tasks, work to deadlines, and maintain attention to detail. Experience of budgets or collections systems would be an advantage.
