Job Summary

The Assistant Football Coach is a full-time, twelve-month position at Morgan State University – an NCAA Division I FCS institution. The position is responsible for overseeing all phases of the competitive Football team. The Football team competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and adheres to NCAA compliance. The assistant coach must be able to support and promote the University’s mission and head coach mission.

Job Duties

The Assistant Foot Coach will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Head Coach with the overall supervision, organization, development and implementation of Morgan’s Division I Football Program
• Recruiting and scouting qualified student-athletes for the Football Team
• Conducting meetings with student-athletes and staff
• Providing guidance and strategy to staff and student-athletes during competitions
• Monitoring the academic progress and pursuits of student athletes
• Assisting with administrative tasks for the Athletic Program
• Performing other duties as assigned

Requested Minimum Qualifications

Education:
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from an accredited College or University.

Experience:
At least five (5) years of collegiate football coaching experience is required.

Other Preferences for Consideration

Preferences:

• Preference may be given to candidates with 6 years or more of experience
• Previous coaching experience at the College level
• Division 1 experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must be certified in CPR /First Aid. Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to receive Mental Health First Aid certification within one calendar year of hire date and maintain certification thereafter.
• Knowledge of NCAA and institutional policies and regulations.
