Assistant Lecturer Job Description:
The Assistant lecturer’s responsibilities include developing seminars, projects and laboratories materials based on course curricula, conducting research at universities or industrial partners, advising students majoring in their area of expertise, attending conferences, supervising undergraduate and master students, grading assignments, and being an active member of the university.
Assistant Lecturer Responsibilities:
The Assistant Lecturer carries out the following specifically didactic activities: laboratory applications, offers guidance to students in project activities, writes didactic materials, supporting the implementation of seminar/laboratory activities, writes a design guide / explanations for the realization of the discipline project, correct assignments/homework imposed by the course syllabus, correct laboratory reports.
Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars. Write publications of an internationally recognized standard or disseminate research findings using media appropriate to the discipline.
Oversee the development of the seminar, project and laboratory material that can be used across different platforms.
Conduct research into learning and teaching methodologies and disseminate best practices within the University and externally. Collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base.
Lead and coordinate research activity in the subject area. Setting and grading assignments and tests. Conducting research, writing papers, project proposals, journal articles, and books.
Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution. Participating in training opportunities and initiatives at the institution.
Providing support to students and other colleagues. Staying current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.
Assistant Lecturer Requirements:
Ph.D. student in Energy engineering or other scientific fields adjacent to teaching subjects.
Published papers in journals and conferences.
Department description:
The Department of Energy Generation and Use (abbreviated DPUE) is attached to the Faculty of Energy Engineering of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest.
The Energy Generation and Use Department manages three license specializations within the Faculty of Energy Engineering, namely: a) Thermal Power Engineering; b) Energy Management; and c) Energy Engineering and Nuclear Technologies. All programs emphasize modern computing tools and equipment, engineering design, engineering practice, projects mainly in recent years, national student competitions, and modern labs equipped with actual pilot installations in different fields like: Nuclear Power Plants, Renewable Energy, Carbon Capture Technologies, Bio-fuels, Power plants and Cogeneration, Soil decontamination, Flue gases treatment, Passive Houses and Buildings Energy, Nearly zero-Energy building, Heat and Mass Transfer, Electrical part of Power Plants and Substations, and Measurements of non-electrical quantities. Today, the human resources of the department consist of teaching staff (30 members: full-professors, Assistant professors, lecturers, and assistant lecturers) and auxiliary staff (9 members: engineers and technicians).
The academic activity for different BSc and MSc programs is related to the given courses in: Thermal equipment and installations; Buildings energy; Energy and environment; Measuring non-electrical quantities; Energy use; Electrical and thermal power generation; Electrical part of power plants and substations; Reliability; Thermal energy audit; Renewable energy sources; Thermal energy management; Management in energy. The research activity is performed by the department’s staff, in collaboration with the master students and PhD students, which are preparing their theses at DPUE.

Approval by the Faculty Council of the Competition Committee’s Report: by 20 October 2026.
Approval by the University Senate of the Competition Committee’s Report on the outcome of the competition: by 22 October 2026.
