Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology
Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position. The position will begin in August 2026. The successful candidate must be willing to teach General Psychology 1 and/or 2 and Writing in Psychology with some of the following courses: Critical Thinking in Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Sexuality, Child Clinical Psychology, Personal Relations & Interactions, and other areas of specialization open. Preferred applicants will have a PhD/PsyD in Social Psychology, Health Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, or related field. Members of our department should have a commitment to our Liberal Arts community and mission of teaching, student advisement and mentoring, scholarly activity, service to the department and University, and professional development. The department emphasizes excellence in teaching and promotes undergraduate research opportunities. We offer a Bachelor’s degree and minor in Psychology in both face-to-face and online formats. As an undergraduate-focused department, faculty teach a 4-4 with 3 preps per semester the first year with many advanced classes being offered every other year in either face-to-face or online classes (D2L academy for classical education). Publication/Presentation expectations are consistent with a 4-4 teaching load.
