Assistant or Associate Professor of School Psychology
Situated on the ancestral and traditional territory of the dxwd@w?abs (Duwamish people) and the Coast Salish peoples, the University of Washington, Seattle, College of Education, seeks to fill a nine-month, 100% FTE position for a tenure-track advanced Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in School Psychology. The successful scholar will join a faculty committed to educational equity and social justice and preparing diverse and culturally responsive graduate students pursuing EdS and PhD degrees as scientist-practitioners in a school psychology program that has been NASP approved/accredited since 1995 and APA accredited since 1992.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Engage in an active and established research agenda with a trajectory for meritorious scholarship and external funding for supporting all children and adolescents in school-based mental health that leads to publication in major journals, external funding, and complements current lines of research in the School Psychology Program. Teach, advise, and supervise specialist- and doctoral-level graduate students in the School Psychology Program. Create opportunities for all school psychology graduate students to engage in research, and recruit, educate, and mentor graduate students from historically marginalized communities. Engage in scholarly work that is culturally responsive in relation to race, culture, gender and sexuality, land, migration, ability, health, and/or language with a particular focus on youth, families, and communities. Provide leadership and service in the Program, College, University, and in the field of school psychology. Contribute to the operation and development of the School Psychology Program. Work collaboratively with faculty in the College Area, which includes programs in Special Education and Measurement and Statistics, and engage in faculty governance.
