School Psychology (Tenure Track, Assistant Professor)
The Department of Psychology at Central Michigan University (CMU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will join our School Psychology Programs as well as a department with 22 faculty members.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses;
- Advising graduate and undergraduate student research;
- Maintaining an independent program of scholarly research; and
- Providing service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in school psychology by time of appointment.
- Evidence of or potential for an independent program of scholarly research related to school psychology.
- Evidence of successful teaching.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in school psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Expertise in school-wide practices to promote learning; promoting safe and supportive schools; family, school, and community collaboration; and/or equitable practices for diverse learners.
- Experience teaching and advising at the graduate level.
- Evidence of or potential for securing external research funding.

About the Department: The Department of Psychology at CMU houses graduate programs in experimental psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, and school psychology. The School Psychology Programs at CMU are grounded in the scientist-practitioner tradition. Our Specialist Program is NASP-approved, and our Doctoral Program is APA-accredited. Although we are phasing out our Doctoral Program over the next few years, we are currently focused on expanding capacity of and enrollment in our Specialist Program.
