Job Summary/Basic Functions
The EKU School of Aviation invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor to begin January 6, 2026. Applicants should hold a relevant master's degree from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to applicants with an emphasis in an Aviation or Aerospace subject area, with a doctorate in a related field and recent aviation industry experience/flight ratings.
This position serves the Aviation program (Professional Flight). It requires excellent written and oral communication skills; commitment to a continuous improvement process and the outcome-based assessment of the programs; and commitment to teaching excellence, service, and scholarship. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Aviation program (Professional Flight) in a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution.
The successful candidate will also maintain an active scholarly agenda; conduct academic advising for professional flight, aerospace management, and unmanned aircraft systems students; and participate in service to the department, university, and community. Additional responsibilities may include: serving as faculty advisor for student organizations; developing and fostering aviation industry connections; participating in curriculum implementation, revision, and evaluation; and participating in recruitment events.
Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following qualifications; an aviation-related terminal degree, applicable flight ratings, recent experience in the aviation industry or an aviation academic setting and experience with a University FAR Part 141 Flight Training program.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise.
Minimum Qualifications
