Assistant Professor Clinical/Counseling Psychology
The Department of Psychological Science in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning August 1, 2026. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.
The Department of Psychological Science is housed in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The department offers a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Sciences degree in psychology. The department also has an online Bachelor of Psychology program and offers a minor in psychology. The department serves 600 majors and 150 minors. RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching a 4/4 load during the academic year (Fall and Spring); maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology, or closely related field, from a regionally accredited university by appointment date
- Demonstrated commitment to, and a record of, effective teaching appropriate to the applicant’s career stage
- Evidence of commitment to excellence in scholarship
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Teaching experience (face-to-face and online)
- Preference will be given to those with experience teaching Abnormal Psychology, Personality Psychology, and Clinical Psychology
- Evidence of mentoring students
