The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is dedicated to high quality medical student, resident, and fellow education, excellence in patient care, and advancing the science in psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research.
Essential Functions
- Clinical supervision, mentoring, preceptorships and training of medical students, psychiatry residents and clinical fellows in mental health related fields.
- Formal and informal lectures on research design, mood disorders, psychopharmacology and curriculum evaluations.
- Clinical research as principal investigator, co-investigator, and/or sub-investigator in NIH and industry funded studies.
- Clinical evaluations, diagnostic assessments, standardized psychometric evaluations, treatment and follow-up of adults with mood and psychotic disorders as incidental to research.
- Train and supervise research assistants, postgraduate students, and nurses in clinical research protocols.
- Opportunity for administrative and leadership roles, participation in quality improvement, peer supervision, and formal mentorship.
Minimum Requirements
Prior to the effective date of appointment, must have all of the following:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO), or equivalent.
- Ohio Clinical Research Faculty Certificate.
- Completion of 48 months of residency/training in Psychiatry.
