The Department of Earth and Planetary Science at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor Faculty position. We welcome candidates from all areas of Earth and Planetary Science.

About the department: Our mission is excellence in research and teaching in Earth and Planetary Science. As a public university, our mandate remains to teach students and the public about Earth and Planetary Science. The department is committed to addressing the family needs of faculty, including dual career couples and single parents. We are also interested in candidates who have had non-traditional career paths or who have taken time off for family reasons, or who have achieved excellence in careers outside academia.
Basic qualifications: The basic qualifications required to be considered for this position are a Ph.D. or equivalent international degree, or enrollment in a Ph.D. or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.
Application Requirements: Document requirements include a Curriculum Vitae with a complete list of publications, Cover Letter, Statement of Research discussing accomplishments and proposed plans, Statement of Teaching and Mentoring discussing prior experience, approach, and future interests, and an Authorization to Release Information Form.
