Assistant Professor, Forensic Science

The Department of Natural Sciences & Mathematics at Curry College invites applications for a full-time Forensic Science professor at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin late August 2026. Successful candidates will have experience teaching using a variety of methodologies at the undergraduate level with diverse learners. Candidates must also be able to establish and maintain an active research program that involves undergraduate students within the department, including forensic science students.

We seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching that promotes inclusive and equity-minded learning environments. Curry College is currently in the process of seeking FEPAC accreditation for the Forensic Science program. As such, we are particularly interested in someone who has leadership experience and can fill the role of Forensic Science Program Coordinator in addition to teaching responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be able to teach Introduction to Forensic Science, Crime Laboratory, and Upper-Level courses within their area of expertise. In addition to Forensic Science courses, the candidate will also support our other science programs by teaching introductory courses in Biology, Chemistry, and non-majors Science courses as determined by expertise to satisfy their teaching load.

All full-time faculty are required to teach at least four courses during one semester (one 2.5-hour laboratory equals one course), and three courses in the second. The forensic science program coordinator receives one course release.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in the Natural Sciences, Forensic Science or related fields is strongly preferred.

Applicants with a Master's degree in Natural Sciences, Forensics Science or related field with 4 years of experience will be considered.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and the ability to develop a robust laboratory or field-based research program that supports undergraduate research alongside other faculty.

Additional Information:

Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, Curry College will honor your experiences, perspectives and unique identity. Together, our community strives to create and maintain working and learning environments that are inclusive, equitable and welcoming.

At the College's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the College, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Employment in this position is contingent upon the successful completion of all required pre-employment background checks.
