Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology- Tenure Track
The Clinical Psychology Program in the Department of Psychology of the College of Arts & Science at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. The Vanderbilt Clinical Psychology Program is internationally recognized for its strength in experimental psychopathology, affective science, intervention research, and clinical neuroscience.
The Department of Psychology, housed within the College of Arts and Science, is a community of 27 full-time faculty with a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching in psychology and neuroscience. Our faculty are organized into three overlapping areas representing clinical science, cognition and cognitive neuroscience, and neuroscience. We have strong collaborative relations with the Department of Psychology and Human Development in Peabody College at Vanderbilt and with the Department of Psychiatry and other departments affiliated with the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Qualifications
We seek an exceptional individual who has a strong record of creative, methodologically rigorous, and conceptually driven research, who has clear potential for obtaining extramural funding, and who has demonstrated the potential for effective teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Although individuals from all areas of adult clinical psychology will be considered, we are particularly interested in scientists who will complement or expand on the expertise of our current clinical faculty. We have particular interest in applicants with expertise in the development and implementation of evidence-based treatments for psychopathology using multi-method approaches and/or the ability to conduct translational research that uses multi-method approaches and paradigms from the fields of affective science to inform the study of psychopathology. A Ph.D., awarded no later than August 1, 2026, in Clinical Psychology from an APA- or PCSAS-accredited clinical program is required; completion of an APA-accredited internship is preferred but not required.
