Job Details
The Gordon College Psychology program invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track psychologist position, preferably at the associate or full professor level, commensurate with experience. The program is located within the School of Psychology and Human Services and is housed in the Ken Olsen Science Center on Gordon’s campus. The master’s level degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a new venture inspired by a desire to serve students well. It is designed to meet standards for the LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) accreditation. The program will be staffed by faculty with a Christian faith commitment and asks that graduate students respect but not necessarily adhere to the Christian faith. Classes will be online synchronous and taught from a holistic, values-based, faith-sensitive perspective.
The Psychology program offers outstanding colleagues who are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service along with motivated students who are eager to engage with their faculty colleagues. This Psychologist role involves collaboration with faculty, students, and external partners as well as the Dean of the School. Teaching includes the expectation that the Psychologist will teach six courses yearly, maintain an active research program, and be engaged in advising students.
The position is a faculty position and may include some teaching of undergraduates as well as graduate students. If undergraduate teaching becomes a part of the role, the position is approved at the tenure-track level.
In addition, we seek someone who has:
- Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (Ph.D., Psy.D.). Master’s level candidates with an appropriate degree and significant experience may be considered.
- Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in Massachusetts is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-licensure experience in clinical practice and supervision.
- Experience in higher education with online teaching is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and external partners.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical training.
- Must have a Christian faith commitment.
