The University of Macau (UM) is an internationalized research-oriented comprehensive public university in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) located at the west bank of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). The Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management (DRTM) at the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor. FBA is one of the largest faculties in the University and a well-established full-service business faculty with AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS accreditations.

As part of its strategic development, DRTM is looking for top-quality scholars. Faculty members have published in top journals in Integrated Resort and Tourism Management. The Department provides excellent research support including a start-up research grant, reasonable teaching load, and access to sophisticated facilities.

Qualifications: Applicants should have teaching and research expertise in artificial intelligence, technology, data analytics, particularly their applications in tourism and hospitality; hold a PhD in the relevant fields; and demonstrate a solid research record of international excellence. The selected candidate is expected to teach and research in these areas and contribute to university, community, and industry service and engagement. The selected candidate is expected to assume duty by August 2026.

Remuneration: The remuneration will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5%–7% after various discretionary exemptions.
