The Assistant Professor in Video Game Design is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in areas such as game development, interactive media, game programming, and digital storytelling, using a balance of theoretical and hands-on, project-based approaches. The role includes designing and updating course materials, assessing student performance, supervising capstone and portfolio projects, and ensuring the achievement of program learning outcomes. The Assistant Professor is expected to contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement to align with current industry standards, emerging technologies, and creative practices. In addition to teaching, the role involves engaging in research and scholarly activities, publishing in relevant fields, and participating in interdisciplinary collaborations. The position also supports academic advising, departmental service, and collaboration with industry partners to enhance student employability and ensure the program remains relevant and competitive.
Job Description
The role involves teaching students in undergraduates and postgraduate academic programs while ensuring appropriate support is provided and high-performance levels are achieved. In addition to program coordination, the Assistant Professor will head research in specialized area related in order to enhance ADU’s profile and contribute to the knowledge development of the local and international community. The role will also require active participation in engaging in diverse pedagogical methods and instructional strategies that support students in their holistic development.
