The Westminster College Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Computer Science to begin August 2026.
We seek a dynamic and innovative teacher-scholar who is committed to excellence in undergraduate education and student-centered learning. All areas of computer science will be considered, though preference may be given to candidates with expertise in data science, artificial intelligence, or information security.
Responsibilities:
- Teach three courses per semester (in person) in a broad range of courses in computer science, and will include courses in the core curriculum and first-year program.
- Maintain an active program of scholarship that engages undergraduate students.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students pursuing computer science majors, minors, and interdisciplinary programs.
- Participate in service to the department, college, and broader academic community.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field by August 2026.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence and inclusivity in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting.
- Evidence of scholarly potential or productivity, specifically with undergraduate students.
