Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education position in the School of Education. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education with an emphasis in teaching English as a second language, elementary education, early childhood education, literacy or a related field is preferred. ABD and specialist degree candidates will be considered with priority given to ABD. Specialist degree or master’s degree positions are not eligible for tenure and will be considered a full-time lecturer professorship. We are seeking a highly qualified education professional with experiences teaching in K-12 settings. Preference will be given to candidates with an emphasis in elementary education, teaching English as a second language, early childhood education, literacy or a related field and university teaching experience.

The successful candidate will be one who can teach a variety of introductory and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in education and be adept at relating course content to the professional practice and licensure requirements. Candidates with teaching or professional experience in the areas of special education, teaching English as a second language, early childhood education, agriculture education, or any related educational field are particularly encouraged to apply. The position requires strong teaching skills, advising and mentoring of undergraduate students, and service to the institution.
